A speculative public installation questioning climate, bodies and urban intimacy.
Field
What if we adapted our bodies to a changing climate instead of adapting the city? Sex in the City explores how urban life might change when shelter is no longer organised around the familiar idea of a home.
Research
Without a private home, where do memories and possessions belong? And what happens to intimacy when privacy is exchanged for convenience and mobility? These questions turn the proposal into a provocation about how we dwell together.
System
An open framework brings different activities into a shared spatial arrangement. The axonometric studies describe an architecture of encounters, where daily life is negotiated in public.
Application
Presented during Dutch Design Week, the installation translates the speculative scenario into a structure within the city. Its exposed frame invites the questions of the project to become part of an everyday urban setting.
